Nelson (Nellie) Fox started out with the Philidelphia
Athletics in 1947. Traded to the Chicago White Sox for Joe Tipton in October
of 1949. Selected to 12 All Star teams starting in 1951. Three time Gold Glove winner.
Voted American League MVP in 1959.
Like some other players, Fox appeared in the early '50s Bowman sets but did not appear on
a topps card until 1956.
