Martin Whiteford (Slats) Marion

Marty Marion played his entire
career in St. Louis, 11 years with the Cardinals and 1 plus year with the Browns as a
player/manager. An 8 time All Star, "Slats" was voted NL MVP in 1944. Marty began his managing career in 1951,
piloting the Cardinals to an 81-73 season. In '52 & 53, he moved to the AL and managed the Browns.
Completed his ML managing career with the White Sox from 1954-1956.
